These wooden objects are custom-made for a collection of soap remnants, acquired through friends and family members. The traditional relationship between material and action is reversed: while soap normally changes shape through use, here the wooden forms have been adapted to the soap remnants. The carved hands function as protective holders for the fragments that have become too small for functional use, but remain present as physical residue.
